本周我們學(xué)習(xí)和停電相關(guān)的詞匯

1. blackout /'bl?ka?t/

n. 停電;斷電

e.g. She keeps flashlights and candles handy in case of a blackout.

e.g. We experienced a blackout last night because of a thunderstorm.

e.g. The blackout lasted for almost three hours, and the whole city was in darkness.

補(bǔ)充：flashlight n. 手電筒

candle n. 蠟燭

syn. power outage停電期

e.g. The power outage lasted for about two hours before electricity was restored.

2. flicker /'fl?k?/

v. (燈光等)閃爍，搖曳

搭配：flicker on and off一閃一滅

e.g. The overhead light kept flickering off and on.

e.g. The lights flickered and then went out.

e.g. The old TV screen flickered constantly.

v.光、表情、情感或想法的短暫閃現(xiàn)。

搭配：flickers across

e.g. A smile flickered across her face.

e.g. A memory flickered across my mind.

e.g. A sudden light flickered across the room.

3. restore/r?'st??/

v. 恢復(fù)

搭配：restore power / electricity 恢復(fù)供電

e.g. The power was restored after two hours.

e.g. After the thunderstorm, it took several hours to restore power.

其他口語(yǔ)化表達(dá)：

The electricity came back.

The power’s back.

4. unplug /??n'pl?ɡ/

v. 拔掉…的(電源)插頭

e.g. I unplugged the TV before the storm to avoid damage.

e.g. Before going on vacation, remember to unplug all appliances.

v. 暫離電子設(shè)備 / 數(shù)碼生活

e.g. I like to unplug on weekends and read books instead of scrolling on my phone.

e.g. It is healthy to unplug from modern technology occasionally.

其他近義表達(dá)：

disconnect from technology / devices

take a digital detox數(shù)字排毒（暫時(shí)遠(yuǎn)離電子設(shè)備或網(wǎng)絡(luò)）

e.g. Sometimes, I take a digital detox to reduce stress and improve focus.

e.g. Disconnecting from devices helps me focus better and sleep more peacefully.
