作為禮巴堂藝術(shù)空間遷至新址的開幕首展，本次展覽以“轉(zhuǎn)場·形核”為題，指向空間遷移與藝術(shù)生成的雙重寓意。在物理與化學(xué)中，“形核”是新物質(zhì)或結(jié)構(gòu)開始出現(xiàn)的臨界點，往往在微觀層面孕育出宏觀的秩序。對于本空間而言，從復(fù)興西路到河南南路的轉(zhuǎn)場，從梧桐樹的悠然蔭影，到新址內(nèi)庭的光影晶核，這是場域的更替，更是文化語境與藝術(shù)實踐的重組；而新空間的首次展覽，恰如一顆“晶核”，將在未來持續(xù)生長并擴散。

參展的十余位中德藝術(shù)家，分別來自不同的文化背景和學(xué)術(shù)傳統(tǒng)，作品了涵蓋了裝置、繪畫、雕塑、攝影、與跨媒體實驗等多樣形式。這是一次關(guān)于“共時性”(Simultanit?t)的實驗：不同文化經(jīng)驗、藝術(shù)方法論與觀念體系在同一空間的并置，正如形核過程中微小擾動會觸發(fā)質(zhì)變，展覽也意在呈現(xiàn)中德藝術(shù)家之間的張力、臨界與生成。然而，這種匯聚并非停留在表層的差異并置，而是一種“差異的生成”。在德勒茲的《差異與重復(fù)》中，差異并不是相對于同一性的偏離，而是一種積極的、內(nèi)在的創(chuàng)造力量。差異本身就是生成的動力，它通過不斷的重復(fù)而生產(chǎn)出新的形式與意義。這種基于“差異與重復(fù)”的生成邏輯，正是禮巴堂藝術(shù)空間在轉(zhuǎn)場與交匯中展現(xiàn)活力的根本所在。

As the inaugural exhibition marking the relocation of Shanghai Liberal Town Art Space, Shift ? Nucleation speaks to the dual significance of spatial transition and artistic emergence. In physics and chemistry, “nucleation” refers to the critical point at which a new substance or structure begins to appear—a microscopic event that often gives rise to macroscopic order. For this space, the shift from West Fuxing Road to South Henan Road, from the tranquil shade of plane trees to the crystalline interplay of light and shadow in the new courtyard, is not merely a change of site, but also a reconfiguration of cultural context and artistic practice. This first exhibition in the new venue functions as a “nucleus” that will continue to grow and radiate into the future.

Featuring over ten Chinese and German artists from diverse cultural backgrounds and academic traditions, the exhibition encompasses installation, painting, sculpture, photography, and cross-media experimentation. It is conceived as an experiment in simultaneity: the juxtaposition of different cultural experiences, artistic methodologies, and conceptual frameworks within a shared space. Just as subtle disturbances in nucleation can trigger qualitative transformations, the exhibition seeks to reveal the tensions, thresholds, and emergent dynamics between Chinese and German artists. Yet this convergence is not a mere surface juxtaposition of differences, but a process of differentiation. As Gilles Deleuze argues in Difference and Repetition, difference is not a deviation from identity, but an active, immanent force of creation. Difference itself is the driving energy of becoming—it generates new forms and meanings through continuous repetition. It is precisely this generative logic of “difference and repetition” that underpins the vitality of Shanghai Liberal Town Art Space as it unfolds through shifts and encounters.
