盡管劇組以“架空幻想”為理由解釋,但諸多情節(jié)設(shè)置仍被批為對(duì)歷史和文化的極大不尊重。
In the series, Ming Dynasty (1368–1644) envoys are portrayed as villains kneeling before the Korean king, samgyetang beats China's Buddha Jumps Over the Wall in a cooking duel, and Wensi tofu is criticized for poor knife skills. While the producers call it "fantasy", many viewers see it as cultural disrespect and historical distortion.
人民文娛在評(píng)論中稱,《暴君的主廚》中,歷史事實(shí)被強(qiáng)行篡改,抄文化抄得“不亦樂(lè)乎”......從早年的“特制”濾鏡到如今的夾帶私貨,部分海外劇綜暗戳戳搞小動(dòng)作的行為屢見(jiàn)不鮮:渲染陳舊的刻板印象,歪曲歷史張冠李戴,前腳在中國(guó)賺錢后腳上綜藝嘲笑……都成為攫取流量的慣用手段。這些,已不僅僅是冒犯,而是借創(chuàng)作之名的扭曲輸出,對(duì)真實(shí)和現(xiàn)實(shí)的肆意篡改。
People's JoyWorks, a subsidiary of People's Daily, commented that the drama "rewrites history and appropriates culture", highlighting a broader trend in some foreign shows of relying on stereotypes, distorting history, or mocking China for profit. Such practices, it said, cross the line from offense to falsifying the past under the guise of creativity.
值得一提的是,韓國(guó)女演員全智賢主演的新劇《暴風(fēng)圈》同樣引發(fā)了廣泛爭(zhēng)議(此前報(bào)道:)。

Commentators emphasized that art should balance imagination with conscience and respect, particularly in cross-cultural works. Enduring creations, they said, stem from truthfulness and genuine cultural understanding, not mockery or denigration.
