The California International Youth Art Competition (CIYA) is a prestigious international art event co-hosted by the Los Rios Community College District, Cosumnes River College, the Italian Culture and Art Exchange Association, and Shengxinyu Art (China). Themed “Technology and Nature,” CIYA aims to inspire global youth to express their imaginations and reflections on the future through artistic creation, focusing on the interplay between technology and the natural world.

California stands as a global powerhouse of technological innovation, home to Silicon Valley, where tech giants like Apple, Google, and Tesla drive advancements in artificial intelligence, clean energy, and digital transformation, exerting profound influence worldwide. Located in Sacramento, Cosumnes River College benefits from its proximity to this epicenter of innovation, fostering a vibrant environment where education, culture, and technology converge. Against this backdrop, CIYA leverages California’s technological prominence to encourage young artists to explore how technology can coexist harmoniously with nature, addressing critical contemporary issues such as the climate crisis, AI revolution, cultural conflicts, and technological monopolies.

Through diverse artistic mediums like painting, sculpture, and digital art, the competition invites youth to envision how technology can serve as a bridge to restore ecosystems, promote sustainability, and foster inclusive civilizations. CIYA provides a global platform for young creatives to showcase their talents while sparking cross-cultural dialogue through exhibitions, encouraging public discourse on technological ethics, environmental stewardship, and cultural diversity. By intertwining art, technology, and nature, CIYA seeks to inspire the next generation to embrace innovation, responsibility, and a global perspective, shaping a future that is sustainable, equitable, and deeply connected to the natural world.

8-22周歲青少年、學(xué)生、兒童

分為六個(gè)年齡組別：

Technology and Nature

科技與自然，看似對立，實(shí)則共生共融。人類借助科技探索自然奧秘，而自然的智慧又啟發(fā)科技的創(chuàng)新。這一主題鼓勵(lì)青少年思考：

和諧共生：科技如何幫助保護(hù)自然（如清潔能源、生態(tài)修復(fù)）？人類怎樣用技術(shù)減少對環(huán)境的破壞？

靈感之源：自然中的形態(tài)、結(jié)構(gòu)（如仿生學(xué)）如何推動(dòng)科技發(fā)展？例如飛機(jī)源于鳥翼，太陽能模仿光合作用。

未來想象：如果科技與自然完美結(jié)合，我們的城市、生活會(huì)有怎樣的改變？是垂直森林建筑，還是AI守護(hù)瀕危物種？

鼓勵(lì)青少年兒童們圍繞主題用描繪無限的觀察與創(chuàng)想——可以描繪科技修復(fù)自然的場景，或幻想未來人與萬物智能互聯(lián)的奇妙世界。

Technology and Nature: seemingly opposing, yet symbiotically intertwined. Humanity explores the mysteries of nature through technology, while the wisdom of nature inspires technological innovation. This theme encourages young people to reflect on:

How can technology help protect nature (e.g., clean energy, ecological restoration)? How can humans use technology to reduce environmental damage?

How do natural forms and structures (e.g., biomimicry) drive technological advancements? For instance, airplanes draw inspiration from bird wings, and solar energy mimics photosynthesis.

If technology and nature were perfectly integrated, how would our cities and lives transform? Would we see vertical forest buildings or AI guardians for endangered species?

Young participants are encouraged to unleash their boundless observations and creativity around this theme—whether depicting scenes of technology restoring nature or envisioning a wondrous future where humans and all living things are intelligently interconnected.

1. 參賽資格 Eligibility

參賽者年齡需在4-22歲之間，包括少年兒童與學(xué)生。每位參賽者最多可提交3幅作品。

Participants must be between 4 and 22 years old, including children and students. Each participant may submit up to 3 artworks.

2. 作品媒介 Medium of Artwork

參賽作品媒介不限，鼓勵(lì)多樣化藝術(shù)表達(dá)，符合“科技與自然”主題。參賽者可提交以下類型作品：

手繪藝術(shù) Hand-drawn Art：包括水彩、水粉、水墨、油畫（需去框）、油畫棒、粉畫、拼貼等任意類型顏料或傳統(tǒng)手工技法。

攝影藝術(shù) / Photographic Art：包括傳統(tǒng)攝影、數(shù)字?jǐn)z影或?qū)嶒?yàn)性攝影作品，需體現(xiàn)主題相關(guān)性。

數(shù)字藝術(shù) Digital Art：包括使用電腦軟件創(chuàng)作的數(shù)字繪畫、插圖、動(dòng)畫設(shè)計(jì)，以及人工智能（AI）輔助生成的藝術(shù)作品。

三維藝術(shù) Three-dimensional Art：裝置、雕塑等三維作品需以高清晰度照片形式提交（照片需為作品的完整呈現(xiàn)，文件大小大于3MB）。

3. 作品尺寸 Artwork Dimensions

作品電子版文件大小需大于3MB。

The digital file of the artwork must be larger than 3MB.

二維作品 Two-dimensional Artworks：作品最大邊長不得超過500mm，建議使用A4（210mm×297mm）或A3（297mm×420mm）尺寸，以確保展覽統(tǒng)一性和運(yùn)輸便利。紙質(zhì)作品需提交畫芯（無裝裱或木框），油畫需去除內(nèi)外框，組委會(huì)將為入展作品提供統(tǒng)一裝裱。

Two-dimensional Artworks: The maximum size of the artwork must not exceed 500mm on the longest side. Recommended sizes are A4 (210mm×297mm) or A3 (297mm×420mm) to ensure uniformity in exhibition and ease of transportation. Paper-based works must be submitted as unmounted cores (without framing or wooden mounts), and oil paintings must be submitted without inner or outer frames. The organizing committee will provide uniform framing for exhibited artworks.

Three-dimensional Artworks: Three-dimensional works (e.g., sculptures, installations) will not be accepted in physical form and must be submitted as high-resolution photographs. Photos must be in JPEG format, with a resolution of 300dpi and a file size between 3MB and 10MB, fully showcasing the artwork’s details and overall effect while reflecting the “Technology and Nature” theme.

4. 比賽流程 Competition Process

比賽分為初賽和決賽兩個(gè)階段，旨在選拔青少年對“科技與自然”主題的優(yōu)秀藝術(shù)表達(dá)，展示其創(chuàng)意與社會(huì)責(zé)任感。

初賽 Preliminary Round

即日起至2025年8月10日，提交報(bào)名作品的掃名電子版及報(bào)名表。作品需為JPEG格式，分辨率300dpi，文件大小3-10MB，確保清晰呈現(xiàn)作品細(xì)節(jié)及整體效果。 報(bào)名表請向主辦方或報(bào)名機(jī)構(gòu)索要。

初賽評選 Judging Method:

由評審委員會(huì)線上評審，依據(jù)創(chuàng)意性（35%）、主題契合度（30%）、藝術(shù)表現(xiàn)力（20%）、技術(shù)水平（15%），重點(diǎn)考察“科技與自然”主題表達(dá)。

An online judging panel, comprising professionals from Cosumnes River College, the Italian Cultural and Art Exchange Association, and Shengxinyu Art, will evaluate submissions based on creativity (35%), theme relevance (30%), artistic expression (20%), and technical skill (15%), with a focus on the “Technology and Nature” theme.

初賽結(jié)果公布 Result Announcement:

2025年8月15日，組委會(huì)通知獲獎(jiǎng)選手，頒發(fā)獲獎(jiǎng)證書，受邀參加決賽及展覽。

Finalists will be notified via the competition website and email by August 15, 2025, receiving the Certificate of Merit and an invitation to the final round and exhibition.

決賽征集 Final Round ：

征集：2025年8月15日起，參加決賽的選手可選擇寄送原件或提供作品高清照片由組委會(huì)高清微噴打印，原件請郵寄到組委會(huì)指定地址。組委會(huì)將統(tǒng)一安排國際物流至美國科斯門斯河學(xué)院美術(shù)館，截止2025年8月20日（以郵戳為準(zhǔn)）。逾期提交取消決賽資格。

From August 15, 2025, finalists may choose to send original

artworks or provide high-resolution digital photos for the

organizing committee to produce high-quality prints. Original

artworks must be mailed to the designated address specified by the organizing committee. The committee will arrange

international shipping to Cosumnes River College Art Gallery, USA, with a deadline of August 20, 2025 (postmark-based). Late

submissions will result in disqualification from the final round.

Selected artworks will be exhibited at Cosumnes River College Art Gallery, USA, from September 4 to September 19, 2025. The

judging panel will conduct on-site evaluations to award Gold, Silver, Bronze, Excellence Awards, and Special Awards (Best Creativity, Best Technique, Best Theme Expression, Sustainability, and Cross-Cultural Exchange), considering artistic value and theme expression.

展覽開幕：

2025年9月4日在科斯門斯河學(xué)院美術(shù)館舉行展覽開幕，鼓勵(lì)參加決賽選手或代表參加（費(fèi)用自理）。

The exhibition opening and awards ceremony will be held on September 4, 2025, at Cosumnes River College Art Gallery. Finalists or their representatives are encouraged to attend (self-funded).

獲獎(jiǎng)作品結(jié)果公布：

決賽獲獎(jiǎng)名單將于2025年9月10日通過官網(wǎng)（www.shengxinyuart.com）、社交媒體、及合作媒體公布。

Final award winners will be announced on September 10, 2025,

via the competition website(www.shengxinyuart.com) ,

social media (Los Rios Community College District and Cosumnes River College accounts), and partner media.

5. 評選與證書Judging and Certificates

初賽為網(wǎng)上評選，獲獎(jiǎng)作品將獲得一、二、三等獎(jiǎng)證書（優(yōu)勝者證書）。

入圍決賽并參加展覽的作品，將現(xiàn)場評出各類獎(jiǎng)項(xiàng)。決賽作品將獲得由組委會(huì)主席、美國科斯門斯河學(xué)院院長、科斯門斯河學(xué)院美術(shù)館館長簽名的獲獎(jiǎng)證書。

The preliminary round will be judged online, and selected

artworks will receive a certificate of merit. Artworks that

advance to the final round and are exhibited will be judged on-site for various awards. Finalists will receive a certificate signed by the competition chair, the Chancellor of Los Rios Community College District, and the Cosumnes River College Art Gallery.

6. 作品退回 Return of Artworks

中國區(qū)參展作品不退回（特殊情況可申請退回，需自行承擔(dān)退回費(fèi)用）。

Artworks from the China region will not be returned (In special cases, participants may apply for return but must bear the return costs).

7. 作品類別 Categories of Artworks

參賽作品需明確標(biāo)注創(chuàng)作方式，分為以下三類：

a.手繪 Hand-drawn:純手工創(chuàng)作的作品，包括繪畫、素描等。

b.電腦制作 Digital Art: 使用電腦軟件創(chuàng)作的作品，如數(shù)字繪畫、設(shè)計(jì)等。

c.AI藝術(shù) AI Art: 利用人工智能技術(shù)輔助或生成的作品。

每類作品將分別評選，確保公平競爭。

Participants must specify the creation method of their artworks, which will be categorized into three groups:

Hand-drawn: Artworks created entirely by hand, such as paintings and sketches.

Digital Art: Artworks created using computer software, such as digital paintings and designs.

AI Art: Artworks created with the assistance or generation of artificial intelligence technology.

Each category will be judged separately to ensure fair competition.

1. 創(chuàng)意性 Creativity (35%)

評估作品在表達(dá)“科技與自然”主題時(shí)的獨(dú)特性和創(chuàng)新性。作品是否展現(xiàn)新穎的視角或概念，是否通過獨(dú)特的藝術(shù)語言暢想科技與自然和諧共存的未來。鼓勵(lì)參賽者突破傳統(tǒng)思維，提出富有啟發(fā)性的創(chuàng)意，特別是在氣候危機(jī)、人工智能、文化融合或可持續(xù)發(fā)展等議題上的創(chuàng)新表達(dá)。

Evaluates the originality and innovation of the artwork in expressing the “Technology and Nature” theme. Judges will assess whether the work presents a unique perspective or concept, imagining a harmonious future for technology and nature. Participants are encouraged to break from conventional thinking and offer inspiring ideas, particularly on issues like climate crises, artificial intelligence, cultural integration, or sustainability.

2.主題契合度 Theme Relevance (30%)

評估作品是否緊扣“科技與自然”主題，是否有效傳達(dá)與環(huán)境保護(hù)、綠色技術(shù)、人工智能倫理或文化包容相關(guān)的思考。作品應(yīng)展現(xiàn)青少年對科技如何影響自然生態(tài)或推動(dòng)可持續(xù)未來的見解，體現(xiàn)對全球性議題的深刻理解和藝術(shù)化表達(dá)。

Assesses how closely the artwork aligns with the “Technology and Nature” theme and whether it effectively conveys reflections on environmental protection, green technology, AI ethics, or cultural inclusivity. The work should demonstrate youth perspectives on how technology impacts ecosystems or promotes a sustainable future, reflecting a deep understanding and artistic expression of global issues.

3.藝術(shù)表現(xiàn)力Artistic Expression (20%)

評估作品在構(gòu)圖、色彩、形式和整體視覺效果上的感染力。作品是否通過藝術(shù)手法傳遞情感、引發(fā)共鳴，或展現(xiàn)科技與自然交融的美感。評委將關(guān)注作品如何通過視覺語言吸引觀眾并傳遞主題信息。

Evaluates the artwork’s emotional and visual impact through composition, color, form, and overall aesthetics. Judges will consider whether the work conveys emotion, evokes resonance, or captures the beauty of technology and nature’s integration, focusing on how the visual language engages viewers and communicates the theme.

4.技術(shù)水平 Technical Skill (15%)

根據(jù)參賽者的年齡組（9-12歲、13-15歲、16-18歲），評估其在所選媒介（手繪、攝影、數(shù)字藝術(shù)或AI藝術(shù)）上的技法掌握程度。評委將關(guān)注材料運(yùn)用、工藝精度以及技術(shù)表現(xiàn)的成熟度，同時(shí)考慮年齡段的合理期望，確保公平性。

Assesses the participant’s mastery of techniques in their chosen medium (hand-drawn, photographic, digital art, or AI art) based on their age group (9-12, 13-15, 16-18 years old). Judges will evaluate material use, craftsmanship, and technical maturity while considering age-appropriate expectations to ensure fairness.

5. 跨文化與可持續(xù)性表達(dá) Cross-Cultural and Sustainability Expression

為鼓勵(lì)與大賽宗旨契合的創(chuàng)作，評委將特別關(guān)注作品是否體現(xiàn)跨文化交流或可持續(xù)發(fā)展的理念。作品若能通過藝術(shù)表達(dá)全球公民意識、文化多樣性或生態(tài)保護(hù)的創(chuàng)新解決方案，將有機(jī)會(huì)獲得額外加分，特別是在“可持續(xù)發(fā)展特別獎(jiǎng)”和“跨文化交流特別獎(jiǎng)”的評選中。

To align with the competition’s mission, judges will give special consideration to artworks that embody cross-cultural exchange or sustainability. Works that creatively express global citizenship, cultural diversity, or innovative solutions for ecological protection may receive bonus points, particularly for the “Special Award for Sustainability” and “Special Award for Cross-Cultural Exchange.”

1.初賽證書Preliminary Round Certificate

大賽在中國區(qū)為初賽，只有通過初賽評選獲獎(jiǎng)的選手，才有資格獲邀參加在美國科斯門斯河學(xué)院美術(shù)館（Cosumnes River College Art Gallery）舉辦的現(xiàn)場展覽與決賽。中國區(qū)獲獎(jiǎng)選手將獲得由組委會(huì)頒發(fā)的一、二、三等獎(jiǎng)與優(yōu)秀獎(jiǎng)證書及獎(jiǎng)牌，以表彰其作品在初賽中的優(yōu)秀表現(xiàn)。

The competition in China serves as a preliminary round. Only participants who win awards in the preliminary judging are eligible to be invited to the final exhibition and competition held at Cosumnes River College Art Gallery, USA. Winners from the China region will receive 1st, 2nd, 3rd Prize, and Excellence Award certificates and medals issued by the organizing committee to recognize the outstanding performance of their artworks in the preliminary round.

2. 決賽獲獎(jiǎng)證書、獎(jiǎng)牌及推薦信 Award and Participation Certificates

初賽獲獎(jiǎng)的選手有資格自愿參加現(xiàn)場決賽，并在美國科斯門斯河學(xué)院美術(shù)館展出，獲獎(jiǎng)選手將根據(jù)年齡組別獲得不同年齡組的金銀銅獎(jiǎng)項(xiàng)：年齡組別：4-6歲，7-9歲、10-12歲、13-15歲、16-18歲，18歲-22歲；獎(jiǎng)項(xiàng)設(shè)置： 金獎(jiǎng)、 銀獎(jiǎng)、銅獎(jiǎng)、 優(yōu)秀獎(jiǎng)以及最佳獎(jiǎng)項(xiàng)： 最佳創(chuàng)意獎(jiǎng)、 最佳技術(shù)獎(jiǎng)、 最佳主題表達(dá)獎(jiǎng)等。

Participants who win awards in the preliminary round are eligible to voluntarily participate in the final competition and exhibit their work at Cosumnes River College Art Gallery, USA, with winners receiving Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Excellence Awards based on age groups (4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-15, 16-18, and 18-22 years old), as well as Best Creativity Award, Best Technique Award, and Best Theme Expression Award.

所有參加決賽并獲獎(jiǎng)的作品將獲得獲獎(jiǎng)證書、精美獎(jiǎng)杯、組委會(huì)出具的推薦信，以表彰其藝術(shù)成就和對國際藝術(shù)交流的貢獻(xiàn)。

All artworks exhibited in the final round will receive a Participation Certificate to honor their artistic achievement and contribution to global art exchange.

All certificates are jointly signed by the Chancellor of Los Rios Community College District and the Cosumnes River College Art Gallery, carrying international recognition and offering valuable opportunities for winners in art education and career development.

Founded in 1970 in Sacramento near Elk Grove, Cosumnes River College (CRC) is a key member of the Los Rios Community College District. With a student-centered approach, CRC offers courses in painting, digital art, sculpture, and ceramics, fostering creativity and critical thinking. Its Art Department and Art Gallery promote art-community connections through exhibitions and educational programs, providing professional artistic guidance and exhibition space for CIYA, empowering youth to explore the theme of “Technology and Nature.”

The Italian Cultural and Art Exchange Association is dedicated to fostering cultural and artistic exchanges between Italy and the global community, emphasizing international art projects and educational collaborations. Rooted in Italy’s rich artistic heritage and contemporary perspectives, the association supports youth in expressing their thoughts on global issues through art, bringing a European artistic lens and cross-cultural bridge to CIYA.

科斯門斯河學(xué)院美術(shù)館建于2014年，占地2500平方英尺，是洛斯里奧斯學(xué)院內(nèi)最大的現(xiàn)代化展覽空間，設(shè)計(jì)注重藝術(shù)與人文的連接，采用可持續(xù)建筑特色如LED照明和“冷屋頂”。美術(shù)館通過舉辦學(xué)生和教職工展覽，支持視覺藝術(shù)教育，并提供藝術(shù)展覽運(yùn)營課程，培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的職業(yè)技能。為CIYA提供決賽展覽場地和專業(yè)評審支持，推動(dòng)青少年藝術(shù)創(chuàng)作的國際化展示。

Built in 2014, the Cosumnes River College Art Gallery is a 2,500-square-foot modern exhibition space, the largest within the Los Rios Community College District, designed to promote connectivity between arts and humanities with sustainable features like LED lighting and a “cool roof.” Through student and faculty exhibitions, it supports visual arts education and offers gallery operations courses to build professional skills. It provides the final exhibition venue and professional judging support for CIYA, facilitating the global showcase of youth art.
