ETS中國簽署戰(zhàn)略合作

5月23日，寧波諾丁漢大學（簡稱“寧諾”）與ETS中國共同簽署了戰(zhàn)略框架合作協議，在教考資源、人才交流等方面共推國際化發(fā)展進程。寧諾也是第一所與ETS中國達成戰(zhàn)略合作關系的合作類辦學大學。

ETS是全球最大的私立非盈利性教育考試和評估機構。未來五年內，寧諾將引進ETS官方課程以及TOEFL、GRE在線?？季毩暤葒H化語言學習資源，攜手ETS中國策劃一系列活動，共同設立TOEFL、GRE獎學金，為學生提供免費考試名額，以助力寧諾學子走向更大的國際舞臺。此外，雙方還將在行業(yè)論壇、留學深造、實習就業(yè)、招生宣傳等方面開展深入合作，共同推動寧諾國際化發(fā)展。

當天上午，雙方代表在寧諾新國際會議中心共同見證了協議簽署典禮的全過程。寧波諾丁漢大學教學副校長Philip Seltsikas教授在開幕致辭中介紹了寧諾的基本情況。他表示，學校在堅持高質量教學的同時，亦將進一步拓展課堂外的體驗，通過與全球各類知名機構建立緊密的合作關系，為學子帶來多元文化交流、行業(yè)社會實踐等獲益良多的成長機會。隨后，ETS中國區(qū)總裁王夢妍與Seltsikas教授正式簽署了戰(zhàn)略框架合作協議。

ETS中國區(qū)總裁王夢妍談到，雙方對于教育促進個人和社會發(fā)展價值的認可，以及對促進教育公平、高質量發(fā)展的承諾是此次合作的重要基礎。作為中國第一所中外合作大學，寧諾開創(chuàng)了我國高等教育與國外優(yōu)質高等教育資源相結合的先河。作為第一個將國際標準化測試引入中國的國際教育測評機構，ETS參與并見證了中國教育的國際化發(fā)展。借此契機，ETS期待與寧諾加深合作，共同推動教育的國際化和高質量發(fā)展。

此次與ETS中國合作，是學校積極探索國際化發(fā)展的又一重要舉措。

寧波諾丁漢大學教務長James Birkett也對此次合作充滿期待，他說：“寧波諾丁漢大學是一所無邊界的大學，能與像ETS這樣的權威國際機構達成戰(zhàn)略合作，充分體現了寧諾在業(yè)界和全球范圍內的認可度。我相信這將更好地助力寧諾學子走向全球，為學校國際化發(fā)展帶來積極的影響?！?/p>

共同出席活動的寧波諾丁漢大學市場及傳媒執(zhí)行總監(jiān)樓月則表示，通過與TOEFL、GRE這樣的評估體系接軌將助力寧諾更精準地鎖定優(yōu)秀生源，招收更具潛力的學生，并助力他們實現夢想。

UNNC joins hands with ETS China to promote international development

On May 23, the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) and ETS China signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote the international development in terms of teaching and testing resources, talent exchange and other aspects. UNNC is also the first Sino-foreign cooperative university to enter into a strategic partnership with ETS China.

ETS is the largest private non-profit educational testing and assessment organisation in the world. Over the next five years, UNNC intends to introduce ETS official courses and international language learning resources such as TOEFL and GRE online practice tests, plan a series of activities, and set up TOEFL and GRE scholarships in collaboration with ETS China, and provide UNNC students with free tests to empower them to get ready for a larger international areana. In addition, both parties will deepen cooperation in realms such as industry forums, study abroad programmes, internships, employment, and enrollment promotion to jointly promote the international development of UNNC.

In the morning, representatives from both sides witnessed the signing ceremony of the MoU at the New International Conference Center of UNNC. Professor Philip Seltsikas, Vice Provost for Education and Student Experience of UNNC, briefly introduced UNNC in his opening speech. He articulated that high quality teaching is at the heart of everything we do, and that the university experience continues outside the classroom – the university’s excellent links with prestigious international universities and companies allow students to benefit from connecting with other cultures and that all-important industry and real-world experience. Afterwards, Mengyan Wang, President of ETS China, and Professor Seltsikas officially signed the MoU.

Mengyan Wang, President of ETS China, said that the recognition of the value of education for personal and social development and the commitment to promote fair and high-quality development of education are the cornerstone of this cooperation. As the first Sino-foreign university in China, UNNC pioneered the integration of high-quality Chinese and foreign higher education resources. As the first international education assessment organisation to introduce international standardised tests into China, ETS has been involved in and witnessed the internationalisation of Chinese education. Taking this opportunity, ETS looks forward to deepening cooperation with UNNC to jointly promote the international and high-quality development of education.

This cooperation with ETS China is another important step for the university to actively explore international development. James Birkett, Registrar of UNNC, attended the ceremony and expressed his expectations for the future, saying, "UNNC has always been committed to becoming a university without borders. The strategic cooperation with global leaders like ETS fully reflects UNNC’s recognition worldwide. I believe that this will better help UNNC students go global, as well as bring positive impact to the university’s international development." Phoebe Lou, the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications of the UNNC, also attended the ceremony and said that the inclusion of assessment systems like TOEFL and GRE will help UNNC to more accurately target the most talented students, recruit the most promising students, and help them achieve their dreams.
