這是第42天閱讀英文版《傲慢與偏見(jiàn)》，看這段文字：
In a few days Mr. Bingley returned Mr. Bennet’s visit, and sat about ten minutes with him in his library. He had entertained hopes of being admitted to a sight of the young ladies, of whose beauty he had heard much; but he saw only the father. The ladies were somewhat more fortunate, for they had the advantage of ascertaining from an upper window, that he wore a blue coat and rode a black horse.
我讀第一遍大概意思是看懂的，賓利先生回訪貝內(nèi)特先生，在書(shū)房會(huì)面，想著見(jiàn)到貝家的姑娘們，因?yàn)槁?tīng)聞貝家姑娘漂亮，但是沒(méi)見(jiàn)到。姑娘們從高處窗戶看到了賓利，他穿著藍(lán)色外套，騎著黑色的馬。
